Board of Trustees
HRI is overseen by a Board of Trustees whose members bring us the benefit of their experience in fields such as clinical research, basic science research, homeopathy, charity administration, media/public relations and business management.
Dr Alexander Tournier BSc DIC M.A.St Cantab PhD LCHE RSHom

Dr Tournier has a 1st class honors degree in Physics from Imperial College, and a Master in Advanced Study in Theoretical Physics (a.k.a. part III) from Cambridge University. Dr Tournier wrote his PhD on the Biophysics of water at the interface with biological molecules at the University of Heidelberg in Germany. Dr Tournier also trained in homeopathy at the Centre for Homeopathic Education, London and is a registered homeopath.
Dr Tournier worked for 10 years at Cancer Research UK (5th institute worldwide for molecular biology) as a researcher working on problems at the interface between biology, physics and mathematics. Dr Tournier founded the Homeopathy Research Institute in 2007.
Mr Charles Wansbrough BDS RSHom
Charles originally studied Dentistry and qualified in 1977. He worked for five years in the NHS, before developing some neurological problems which got him interested in the field of Alternative medicine becoming qualified at the College of Homeopathy in 1988. After many years of practise he became interested in the research dimensions of homeopathy and has continued to support and explore the interface between technology and homeopathy.
Prof Ashley Ross BMus PGDip MTech PhD
Prof. Ross is head of the Department of Homeopathy at Durban University of Technology (DUT), South Africa who has practiced and taught homeopathy for over 25 years. In addition to private practice and the teaching of homeopathic philosophy and materia medica, he has been actively engaged in research supervision across a range of health disciplines as well as pursuing his own research interests.
Alexandre Winkler ESCP BSc (Hons) LCHE RSHom
Alexandre is of German and Spanish origins, born and raised in Paris. After graduating from one of the top French business schools he started a career in Investment Banking working on interest rate derivative transactions in Paris, Tokyo, Frankfurt and London where he has been living since 2001.
He decided to leave the world of Finance in 2008 and chose to dedicate his energy to his biggest passion, Homeopathy, which entered his life when he was 2 months of age. Alexandre graduated from the Centre of Homeopathic Education where he gained his Licentiate and BSc (Hons) degree in Homeopathy. He runs now his main practice in East London. In the meantime he has also trained as an EMDR and Ego State therapist. His other major interests are History, Jungian psychology and the latest scientific developments on the properties of water and electromagnetism.
In addition to his role in the HRI Board of Trustees, Alex has been a Director of the Board of the Society of Homeopaths since 2016.
