Homeopathy use around the world
Worldwide
- Worldwide, over 200 million people use homeopathy on a regular basis.1, 2
- In 16 countries surveyed, six out of ten people have used homeopathy* and 55% of people worldwide intend to use homeopathy in the future.3
- Homeopathy is included in the national health systems of a number of countries e.g. Brazil, Chile, India, Mexico, Pakistan, Switzerland.
Europe
- 100 million EU citizens, some 29% of the EU’s population, use homeopathic medicines in their day-to-day healthcare.2
- Homeopathy is practised in 40 out of 42 European countries.4
India
- India leads in terms of number of people using homeopathy: ~1.2 billion* people have used homeopathy (83% of the Indian population)2 with 100 million people depending solely on homeopathy for their medical care.3
- There are over 200,000 registered homeopathic doctors currently, with approximately 12,000 more being added every year.4
UK
- An estimated 32 million* people in the UK have used homeopathy (49% of the population).3
- 77% of the UK population consider that conventional medicine and alternative medicines, such as homeopathy, are complementary.3
USA
- An estimated 193 million* people have used homeopathy in the US (58% of the population)3
- 90% of respondents were satisfied after using an homeopathic treatment.3
